Every time we receive a ton of Arno confessions, I am always reminded of that very dark time in 2014 to mid 2015 where La Rosa in Fiore very nearly closed its doors because of inactivity. We were lucky when we received a confession in a week. We were posting one confession in a day and there would be days that we wouldn’t post anything at all.
I mention this because that timeline coincided with Unity’s release. Most of the mods back then (even yours truly) were burned out by the fandom and we just didn’t have the drive to keep the bordello up and running anymore. We weren’t getting confessions, the community engagement was reduced to nearly zero, so while I didn’t want to completely close down the bordello I really wanted to quit. The only thing that held me back was being recently appointed as the head moderator. It wouldn’t look good if I quitted less than a year after the appointment 😅 So, I held on, was absolutely flummoxed at huge spike of activity by the time Syndicate was released, but still told myself, “I’ll quit by January 2016.”
And yet… I’m still here. 🤣 (Pretty sure most of you know that story already)
So, seeing this huge spike of Arno love three years after the game was released is both baffling and heartening. He may not be my favourite, but I do – or rather – did feel sad that he was one of the least appreciated lead characters. I don’t mind making confessions for Arno, but it’s honestly just a little bit of an ordeal to queue them up and striking that balance. 😅 So, I appreciate that you are willing to wait for your confessions to show up because…. *looks at the bordello’s draft box with the other Arno confessions waiting to be queued* There’s quite a line 😆
