To our valued patrons,

First of all: We hope everyone is staying strong and healthy during these trying times. Please take care of yourselves and put your health in your topmost priority. Not only your physical health, but your mental and emotional health as well. If you find yourselves being overly focused on what is currently happening and you are feeling despair, please take a moment to take a step back and find things that bring you joy, even little things such as cat videos.

Second of all, we’d like remind our new patrons of our rules. We know it’s not very easy to find them when you’re using the app, so here is a page with our rules. Please take note of the content we will not publish here.

Specifically, we received a confession regarding Jack the Ripper. Now, we used to receive and post confessions involving him, but – perhaps due to the nature of his character – these almost always involved some form of violence. It had gone to a point where they triggered very painful memories for some of our patrons who were abuse survivors.

We’ve always strived our bordello to be a safe space for everyone, so we decided then to completely disallow any confessions regarding him – or any character involved in committing grievous crimes against humanity. Since the Assassin’s Creed franchise uses many historical figures, we’re already rather toeing this fine line between fiction and reality. 

When we made the decision back then, it was, frankly, quite contentious. The Jack the Ripper character was popular. It was not an easy decision to make, but we valued our patrons’ mental and emotional safety above everything else.
